MAKSAD is a progressive, democratic, and participatory civil society organization that aims to give Marmaris’s cultural and artistic life a lasting and sustainable quality. The association is an inclusive and pluralistic production platform that undertakes social responsibility, opens up opportunities for different art disciplines through its work, and builds connections between artists and art enthusiasts at local and international levels.

Clear Words, Crystal Sounds: The 1000th Anniversary of the Sparrow Harbour Glass Wreck.

Focusing on the 1000th anniversary of the Sparrow Harbour Glass Wreck, one of the world-famous archaeological heritage sites of the Bozburun Peninsula, MKSF26 brings together underwater archaeology with contemporary glass art, concerts, talks, and many more fascinating events for all ages. 5. International Cahit Koparal Flute Competition (8 – 16 September 2026)

The flute competition is organized in memory of Prof. Cahit Koparal (1928–2001), an esteemed artist, flute virtuoso, educator, and Marmaris enthusiast who made significant contributions to the establishment of the Marmaris Culture and Arts Association (MAKSAD). It will be held in Marmaris for the fifth time on an international scale from September 8-16, 2026. For the first time, participation is possible for students of highschool age.
